Think piece edition!
- The New World, the Rise of the New Culture of Participation. Futurist Jamais Cascio examines the potential of social media and other open source and participatory technologies to leverage the collective intelligence of the internet — and perhaps transform political culture.
- Politics and Media in the Internet Age. A British Conservative politician looks at the ways that web search, blogs and other forms of online collaboration are disrupting traditional top-down media and political institutions and creating new opportunities for citizen participation in government decisions.
- IPDI/Edelman on Political Blogging (and Wal-Mart). William Beutler writes in Blog P.I. about Wednesday’s presentation and panel discussion on recent Edelman research about the relationship between blogs and activism. More an overview than a think piece, but definitely full of ideas to chew on.
