Checking my server stats today, I found a slew of referrals from searches for some combination of “Convio” and “GetActive” — close to two dozen, with most coming from Google but several from Technorati, the blog search engine. Considering that I only wrote about the merger mid-afternoon yesterday and that the stats updated at 4 this morning, that’s a BUNCH of activity for such a short period of time. Another indicator, along with email traffic on advocacy lists, that this development in the industry has people interested and in many cases concerned. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of losing diversity among vendors and also don’t want to lose the good qualities of GetActive, a company I’ve been using for two years and several of whose employees I’ve come to know well.
