I strongly disagree with your conclusion! I think that Ron Paul is 100% unique. He is like some other political figures in small ways, but he seems to be very truthful and open on issues. I am voting for him. I am a conservative and I do think he is extreme in some of his views, however he is the only one who has talked about the constitution and obeyed it in his voting record. I think he can go all the way.

You can only claim Ron Paul's campaign is doomed for so long. He is gaining support on the web like no other candidate, and his message is spreading like wildfire because of it. Each debate and tv appearance only accelerates his support and shows us how fake the other candidates are. I think americans are finally waking up, this won't be like the other elections, which is why I think he can win.

I love how people always point out "Ron Paul is awesome on every single issue" and then in the same breath say "He can't win."

Why? Because, their premise is, "AMERICA IS TOO DUMB TO REALIZE WE ARE BEING RIDDEN INTO THE GROUND."

I got a clue for you, sirs and madams - Americans are not as dumb as the used to be; people are waking up daily; the MESSAGE (of liberty, freedom, peace) wins always. This has nothing to do with Ron Paul the man and everything to do with the Message coming out of his mouth.

That is why he will win.

Who IS Ron Paul? They still need to know!!
NOBODY explains Ron Paul
BETTER than Ron Paul himself!

Here is an interactive audio archive of
Ron Paul speeches and interviews as a resource in chronological
order.

Nice round up of some details, but I disagree with the conclusion.

The only way Paul's campaign is doomed would be due to the outright shutout that's currently being conducted by much of the corporate media. Even when Paul does gets air time, most of the questions are biased attempts to smear his positions or lame repeats of already debunked assertions. And Foxnews, well, it's beyond the pale.

I am of the mind that if Paul is doomed, so to is our nation, because this is much more than a mere political campaign to many supporters.

But we'll see if the shutout works. When Paul's message gets out, he more gains supporters.

Like many who doubt Ron Paul, you mention his low poll numbers. You assert that he will not do well because he is a purist, etc. The reason he does not do well in mainstream media (MSM) polls is that the MSM does not cover him. Most voters do not know who Ron Paul is. They don't "vote" for him in their poll response because they don't know his name, not because they disagree with his views or his purity.

His challenge, and he may well not make it, is to get voters to know who he is before the primaries begin. If the voters learn about him, his niche is plenty big enough. In today's world, the niche of having opposed the war from the beginning includes the majority of voters (many of whom have conveniently forgotten that they supported the war at the beginning). At the same time, that niche belongs to Ron Paul and no one else.

Typical hack opinions no research and little insight into who Ron Paul actually is and his supporters, hes been building a base across America for the past 5 years. Its not teenagers in bedrooms typing out support on their computer there are business, military and government folk that all know him well. He hasnt come out of no where, its not for any of the reasons youve mentioned, its because hes been engaging his supporters across America i9n meaningful dialogue, yeah America might go down the plug hole without the pooulation lifting a finger, they might buy another Bush & Cheney, They might even buy another Clinton x2 but somehwo I doubt it the country is going to the dogs and those that predict the same old scenarios might get a surprise, yeah I know your a cyncic and your smug about it .

Some good points are made as to why Paul has so much support on the Internet, but with all due respect, he is not like any of the previous candidates mentioned. His experience gives him an edge the others didn't have and he comes along at a time when the political atmosphere is quite different.
