- Jaxtr Widget Lets Social Networkers Chat On Real Live Phones. TechCrunch writes up a new widget that connects your phone to your social networking profile and lets people call you through the site without you (or the caller) having to reveal a phone number. Could the concept be applied to distributed phone-banking?
- Citizen Marketers: When People are the Message. A new book looks at how the networked world is replacing traditional top-down marketing message control with a social media free-for-all. Also check out the authors’ blog. Via Seth Godin.
- More on IDing the Right Social Networking Tools for Your Nonprofit. The title says it all. From the site Getting Attention.
- Yahoo is providing citizen journalists with an outlet for amateur photos and video. Called You Witness News, the site allows people to upload photos via Flickr and video clips directly. AdRants implies that people are getting paid for their work, but I couldn’t find mention of that on the actual You Witness News site.
