It's happening! FaceBook deploys a new developer network (very well executed), and subscriber growth is through the roof. Hundreds of thousands of new users per day. Not only that, they find their users actually USING FaceBook quite frequently. I guarantee MySpace can't say the same thing.

My prediction is coming true (the prediction Chip linked to in his blog post above)... and the fact that FaceBook JUST announced they were buying another company has as much symbolic meaning as it does anything else.

Now - what if I told you the company they purchased was owned by the co-founders of FireFox?

I just did an updated post on my blog.

I think Facebook's days are numbered too.

It's weird how ideas seem to spring up in different places at the same time. My blog entry today was about the death of MySpace, but I had 100% different reasons.

They boil down to the fact that these sites are fishbowls that appeal to people who are new and afraid, but eventually they move on. Just look at AOL. 10 years ago saying AOL was dead would be shocking.

[...] Shocking, I know - there’s plenty of chatter that MySpace has had it’s day - and perhaps it’s fair to say that MySpace has peaked in a number of ways. [...]

[...] Facebook Splurge I’ve been meaning to have a play with Facebook for a while. There is some talk that it is set to overhaul MySpace as the industry leading social networking website, and it is certainly creating quite a stir in the pre-campaign for the Presidential primaries in the US. This weekend I finally got round to setting up my profile.
